Extrusion Machine Operator
Location: Alconex Headquarters – Manufacturing Facility – Fort Wayne, Indiana
We are currently looking to fill Full-Time Positions for Extrusion Machine Operators on our Manufacturing Team. We are looking to fill positions on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts.
The first 90 days of worked at Alconex are considered our probationary period, where we will lay out the expectations we look for in a team member. Shift Premiums are available for those looking for employment on 2nd and 3rd shift.
Our production position wages start at:
1st Shift – $16.00/hour
2nd Shift – $16.25/hour ($16.00/hour + Shift Premium of $0.25/hour)
3rd Shift – $16.50/hour ($16.00/hour + Shift Premium of $0.50/hour)
We have an extensive training program on site to teach you everything you need to know to be successful in your position as an Extrusion Machine Operator. You can walk in knowing nothing about our products and processes, and in no time can be very knowledgeable and successful here at Alconex.
And along with your individual success here at Alconex, we offer raises based upon the skill level you obtain during your employment with us. We like to say, the more you know, the more you grow.
Our Extrusion Machine Operators also have the opportunity to earn a monthly bonus based upon their production rates. If they are successful in achieving the goals laid out by Alconexs production team, we offer a nice reward for meeting those goals.

Mechanical Maintenance Technician - NEW
Location: Alconex Headquarters – Manufacturing Facility – Fort Wayne, Indiana
We are currently looking to fill Full-Time Positions for Mechanical Maintenance Technician on our Maintenance Team.
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical equipment and systems to ensure optimal operation of manufacturing and facility machinery. This role involves performing preventative and corrective maintenance with a focus on mechanical systems, supporting production needs, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives in a safe and efficient manner.
This position reports directly to the Manager of Maintenance and interacts regularly with other maintenance team members, production staff, and management. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician shall foster a team-oriented environment that promotes safety, quality, and productivity improvements.
The Duties and Responsibilities of the Mechanical Maintenance Technician are:
• Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on mechanical systems, equipment, and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical malfunctions using technical knowledge and equipment manuals.
• Replace or repair defective parts such as bearings, belts, gears, shafts, and motors.
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment and systems.
• Perform general maintenance as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to plan and execute repair and maintenance tasks.
• Ensure equipment operates in compliance with company standards and safety regulations.
• Work closely with production to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
• Keep work areas clean and organized and comply with housekeeping standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce costs.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience for the Mechanical Maintenance Technician:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or apprenticeship in mechanical maintenance preferred.
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated knowledge of industrial equipment and systems.
• Welding and fabrication experience a plus.
• Hand tool experience a plus.
• Experience with preventative maintenance programs preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities for the Mechanical Maintenance Technician are:
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and equipment manuals.
• Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Knowledge of basic electrical systems is a plus.
• Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to lift, move, and position parts and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and equipment.
