GENERAL PROPERTIES

Nomex may be helically or longitudal applied on magnet conductors of either copper 110 & 102 soft temper or 1350-0 temper aluminum wire.
Copper soft temper is 32,000-PSI max to 24,000-PSI min.
Aluminum 1350-0 temper is 14.0 KSI max to 8.5 KSI min.
A two mil (.002”) thick taped applied with 50% overlap has become the most  popular construction but multi tapers are available upon special request.

ENGINEERING HIGHLIGHTS

Thermal Stability
       Nomex covered Copper is rated class 200 degree C
       Nomex covered Aluminum is rated class 220 degree C
Dielectric Strength
       Nomex may be impregnated with oil, chlorinated bi-phenyl, or silicone.
       Fluids or varnishes in the conventional vacuum process.
Abrasion Resistance
       Nomex paper has excellent tear resistance and is most resistant to damage during winding.
